Example: refinish basement in 5 years. Ok. But what if I cant afford to do it how I want? If its mediocre, id rather leave it alone. Also I may want to move so then its not worth doing. Etc. Too many variables its impossible to do.

To the investing part, its only easy because the company im with has an outside group that helps and educates you on how to do it and offers matches, so its easy. Of course I could go in there and mess with it but I have no time or want to. This is long term investing which honestly isnt very hard since the market trends up over time (except when this bubble goes, but there’s time to build it up again for me. If retirement was near id be very worried)

Anyway yes… “mission statements” and the like are kind of cringe. Like, every single one is “grow company. Make money. maybe try to get a good reputation, but no big deal if we’re scum as long as we enrich shareholders”

Yes save your commands. I put a commands text file on my nas so I can access from any pc. Or use joplin or another note program with sync. Save the command and a quick descriptor. Then you can even access that text file quick from within terminal using a text editor like nano or vim.

I set an alias up so if I type “command” it actually runs something like “nano /home/mnt/nas/command txt” and I can see them right there.

Haha no I know its not its just annoying having others downplay it because they seemingly have it too, but you have it far worse and they dont get it.

I am a pro at making things much harder than they ever need to be, then screwing myself by burning out on any project because I had to do it the right, hard way, or anything else is cheating and lazy.

Thats why im kind of burned out on music. The end goal is usually to get it published and have people listen. Thats very hard. Plus since anyone can just make anything with ai now and people cant tell the difference, its not worth it to make music. A new album is made every minute of every day.

Its too bad because writing and recording were so fun. But its stupid to do if it goes nowhere and I have 300 unfinished songs on a hard drive.
