That’s actually how it is. It’s hard to describe in words, like it’s a bit blind coming from the right side as you cross, but Cobble Hills Road is so up and down too, it’s such a bumpy little area (hence why there used to be a little ski hill there). That stop sign sneaks up on you if you don’t know the area well and it’s hard to know it’s there until you are upon it. I know exactly how it happened, it sucks.
That intersection is such a dick of a corner. It’s got those stop sign divots and everything, but it’s got a big blind hill coming from the one side, and it’s such an undulating road in that area like it’s up down up down up down as you go by the golf course. It’s so easy to cook through that stop sign if you don’t know the area. Such a tragedy.
The liberals suck. I’ve plugged my nose the last few trips to the polls. I don’t like voting for them, but we literally have no other choice. I don’t like the federal NDP, I live in Alberta so I’m not even sure we had a green party candidate these last few rounds. It leaves no other choice, it’s either the Nazis or people who are the only real rational choice but still aren’t that great of a choice.

Wayne wasn’t the subject of very many hits in hockey. CTE isn’t a factor that you can blame. As it goes with shit stains, everyone around him probably has the CTE as they were collateral damage, guys like Dave Semenko (it’s never been publically disclosed but he was post-mortem investigated for it after dying of cancer) or Marty McSorley (who is not dead but he states he has memory loss and other symptoms).
I’m not from Brantford, but I’m from SOnt, and he was a god to a kid in the 80s. I remember fighting every ounce of my energy trying to stay up to watch the late night games as a little tiny kid. I remember saying as a 3 or 4 year old that I’m going to Edmonton when I grow up, I’m going to work and watch Wayne Gretzky (and it’s funny how that almost actually played out, but I got the wrong city). It breaks my fucking heart. You broke our hearts Wayne. Never meet your heroes they say, and it’s a funny saying because most of my heroes have actually turned out to be pretty stand up in person too. All but one.

And no, it shouldn’t be allowed. Even in threatening or harassment situations, where the appropriate response would be calling in a third party like the police to evaluate, they shouldn’t be allowed to prevent others from speaking and to be heard. Because if we’ve learned anything from these government officials as of late, they are doing everything in their power to suppress freedom of thought, association, or speech. Any barrier that enables that, like this does, needs to be broken down.
I mean I’m all for humanity, but at the same time I wish they’d just get to the Kool aid part quicker. I’m ready to move on. I have no desire to live in Gilead.

I feel like an alien in Alberta. I’m surrounded by insanity. Mostly Take Back Albertans too, like the real insane shit. My neighbor thinks that because we don’t prey in schools anymore this is why children are hellions. All the world’s problems start with us not praying in schools, makes the kids go gay. I’m not even making this up. I’ve gotten quite adept at ninja rolling through the bushes to avoid run-ins with them.
I was sort of loosely onboard with the gun ban before, sort of kind of. But I’m completely offboard now. Even if it’s a full out machine gun, I think we are at the point where it’s maybe something to be looked past, if it’s held and stored responsibly. You can kind of see even the Liberals are trying to low-key back peddle out of it.
