what’s that hyperfocus thing ? I thought adhd was essentially the inability to focus ? I have days like this, I start a task and I just don’t look away for seven or eight hours. It’s not exactly healthy, but if I pause for even a few minutes then I may not resume at all. Is that what this meme is referring to ?

ADHD is a problem with executive function - controlling focus.

So some folks with ADHD swing from not being able to focus on one thing at all to only focus on one thing to the exclusion of all else.

When we were about 12, a friend of mine would get so into reading a book he wouldn’t hear his parents calling his name. It happened so much they took him for hearing tests.

That’s how strong hyperfocus can be. (He was later diagnosed with the Inattentive type of ADHD).

Ok, thank you. Well… being in a “sensory bubble” while immersed into something intense (such as a book) sounds normal to me, maybe I’ve had this my entire life

        Appreciate the detailing 👍🏼
